Religion of Environment and Nature

There is a lot going on here. This painting began as a beautiful painting of some mountains. I used a paint knife, instead of a brush, to depict mountains. This was the first time I used a knife on one of my oil paintings. Then I decided to add the pillars, taken from the Royal Staircase in the Vatican. Then the crowd of worshippers inspired by an Italian painting of the Chapel of San Gennaro. The worshipers are a bit lost, looking to the sky, to nature. They are drawn to the pillars and the created controversy of global climate change. The sun reaches out more than the worshippers or their church. Both man's creations, represented by the pillars and windfarm, and man are dwarfed by nature, dwarfed by the presence of trees, mountains, and sun.
